Photos show American Conservation Experience (ACE) installing some 50,000 new native plants on project sites in the Mid-Atlantic Region. These projects designed to vegetate damaged wetlands and streams.
Trout Headwaters is very thankful to ACE, the The Corps Network, our project partners, the many supporters of the Waders in the Water program, and our valued clients – for helping to promote the vital educational and real-world experiences for all these young professionals.
A few notes from the field today:

Biodiversity
New native plantings for use in riparian (streamside) buffers will help improve biodiversity across the headwater streams on this project site

Do No Harm
Using only hand-tools and light equipment crews can walk softly in zones targeted for additional plantings or biostabilization of streambanks

Safety First & Always
Conservation Corps members from American Conservation Experience review site safety before starting work, thoughtfully reviewing how to best work together safely.

A Lasting Legacy
Restoration areas will be managed long-term for conservation goals, and will be preserved in perpetuity by conservation easements.
