Longer droughts. Bigger floods. Stronger hurricanes. Rising seas. These are the impacts from climate change we hear most about, and the ones that are having the greatest impact on vulnerable people around the world. Amidst the gloom and doom that make headlines, however, solutions exist. They just need to be surfaced.
Rare – in partnership with The Nature Conservancy – has launched its second Solution Search contest. This year’s contest, entitled Adapting to a Changing Climate, seeks applications from around the world with proven solutions that use nature to help people and communities adapt to the impacts of climate change. The winner will receive $20,000 to help replicate their solution around the world.
Applicants can submit their entries and view other submissions through July 19th at www.solutionsearch.org. Nominations for innovation in the area of climate adaptation are also being accepted.
