Coral reefs are second only to rainforests in biodiversity of species. While they make up only 0.2% of our oceans, they contain approximately 25% of all marine fish species.
Unfortunately these incredibly important systems are under severe threat from both natural and manmade conditions including flooding, and increased sedimentation.
We have already lost 27% of the world’s reefs and at the current rate of decline, it is expected that we may lose as much as 60% of the world’s coral reefs over just the next 30 years.
