Norris Hundley’s important book has been recently re-released in its second edition by the University of California Press (Paperback, 433pages).   Water and the West: The Colorado River Compact and the Politics of Water in the American West is regarded as the classic account of the negotiations to divide the Colorado River’s water.  These negotiations and the resulting compact began a tenuous peace between seven Southwestern states that even today is being tested by the west’s unquenched thirst for water.  Learn more about the author.
