There is a wonderful program dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. It’s called Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing  (PHWFF) and it is much more than a one-time fishing outing. They strive to serve those who have made great sacrifices in their service to our great nation through offering on-going, year-round support, classes and outings.

The Dallas based fishing rod company Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) is a big supporter of PHWFF so they designed two distinctive fly rods displaying the Project Healing Waters. The PHWFF rods are inscribed with the words “Healing Those Who Serve” and TFO sends PHWFF $25 for every one of the PHWFF rods it sells.

Both PHWFF and TFO will join Trout Headwaters at the March 11 & 12 First Annual Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival! Stop by their booths to learn more, than come by the THI booth to say hello. Make sure to hear THI CEO Mike Sprague’s presentation about making streams more fish friendly.
