If You Tear It Down They Will Come

A recent story in the L.A. Time chronicles the return of wild steelhead to tributaries of the Elwha River in Washington after removal of the 108-foot high Elwha dam.  When checking on tagged wild fish they had planted a few months earlier, scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe made an astonishing discovery: untagged wild fish had already found the new streams on their own.
