Trout Headwaters Named to Co-Manage Tye River Mitigation Bank

Restoration of floodplains and streams is underway on Tye River Mitigation Bank

Trout Headwaters, Inc has begun restoration of streams and riparian buffers of the Tye River Mitigation site located near Lynchburg, Virginia.

The firm has also been tasked with the Co-Management responsibility for the bank sponsor, Tillman Conservation LLC, in order to insure successful management and compliance for this important project.

The Tye River Mitigation Bank provides compensatory mitigation for unavoidable impacts to aquatic resources in the Middle James – Buffalo (02080203), Middle James – Willis (02080205), Appomattox (02080207) and Rivanna (02080204) watersheds.

Tillman Conservation, LLC., the Bank Sponsor, has established the Tye River Mitigation Bank to provide offset compensation for the unavoidable loss of jurisdictional Waters of the United States, including streams and riparian buffers, and their associated ecological functions and services related to permitted impacts within the Bank’s Geographic Service Area under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act.
