World Wetlands Day 2016

February 2, 2016

Today, on World Wetlands Day 2016, we recognize the vital importance of our wetlands. Ecological services derived from healthy wetlands include food, freshwater, flood control, water treatment, and recreational opportunities to mention only a few. They are critical for human well-being and maintaining healthy wildlife populations. Their benefits are felt locally in the form of providing drinking water and food, while on a global scale sequestering carbon and helping to regulate climate.
Because we have always aligned promise with practice, Trout Headwaters is thrilled to see a rise in the level of awareness about the value of our world’s wetlands. We believe that we live in one of the most potentially promising moments in human history, where sustainability meets innovation. Done right, natural resource restoration can lead a revolution in which developing and conserving our resources will both grow the bottom line, and change the world. >Learn More about World Wetlands Day
